Team Canada will wrap up their orientation camp in Calgary tomorrow and the TSN panel has projected who will be on the team based on insight into how management is thinking. I think they are way off base on a few players so, of the 47 invited to the camp, here are my picks for those who should represent Team Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Roberto Luongo, Carey Price and Corey Crawford
Duncan Keith, Drew Doughty, Shea Weber, Alex Pietrangelo, Marc-Édouard Vlasic, Marc Staal, Brent Seabrook and Dan Boyle
Sidney Crosby, Steven Stamkos, Patrice Bergeron, Jonathan Toews, Eric Staal, Rick Nash, John Tavares, Patrick Sharp, Milan Lucic, Claude Giroux, Jordan Eberle, Martin St. Louis, Ryan Getzlaf and Mike Richards
Patrice Bergeron is the best face-off man and 2-way player in the game so he is most certainly better than a #13 forward, as projected by TSN. Also, I’m throwing it out there right now that Milan Lucic will make this roster.
Mike Smith, P.K. Subban, Brad Marchand and Jeff Carter
