Motörhead - Heroes
Motörhead is releasing a covers compilation album on September 1st titled Under Cöver, with David Bowie’s “Heroes” being the most anticipated track from the collection. Listen to it below.
The band recorded the song in 2015 during sessions for their final record, Bad Magic. And according to Rolling Stone, Motörhead performed “Heroes” live only once, in June 2015, as an encore at Germany’s Aftershock festival.
The Claypool Lennon Delirium - Satori
How is this for a weird collaboration… Sean Lennon and Les Claypool. Last week, The Claypool Lennon Delirium released a four-track EP that compiles studio versions of cover songs the duo have performed onstage over the past year. One of them is Part 1 of the five-part title track from Flower Travellin’ Band’s heavy psychedelic album Satori from 1971. An equal weird video for the track is featured below.
Lime And Limpid Green also includes “Boris The Spider” (The Who from 1966), “Astronomy Domine” (Pink Floyd from 1967) and “In The Court Of The Crimson King (King Crimson from 1969). The record is available as a limited-edition run of 3,000 on clear vinyl with green and double-mint splatter.
Prong - However It May End
Prong released their new album, titled Zero Days, late last month. The record kicks off with “However It May End”. Listen to it below.
Gary Numan - My Name Is Ruin
Gary Numan will release his 22nd full-length album on September 15th. Savage (Songs From A Broken World) is a concept album set in a post-global warming apocalypse. The first single is “My Name Is Ruin’ and features backing vocals from his 11-year-old daughter, Persia.
Troubled Horse - Hurricane
Troubled Horse hails from Örebro, Sweden, the same hometown as Witchcraft. Although the band formed back in 2003, they didn’t release their debut album until 2012. Earlier this year, they returned with a refreshed lineup and their second album, Revolution On Repeat. Listen to “Hurricane” below.
Kadavar - Die Baby Die
Germany’s Kadavar have released a new music video for “Die Baby Die”. The track comes from their upcoming fourth studio album titled Rough Times. A 7″ vinyl single of the song b/w a cover of “Helter Skelter” by The Beatles is now available. The album will be released on September 29th via Nuclear Blast. It’s a cheesy video but the song itself is pretty decent. Watch it below.
Dasher - Soviet
“Soviet” was released as a single back in 2014 by a band now based out of Bloomington, Indiana called Dasher. The track has made its way onto their full-length debut album titled Sodium. Listen to it here.
High Spirits - Lonely Nights
Motivator from High Spirits made my Top 10 list for the best albums of 2016. The hard rock band from Chicago returns with a new tour EP titled Escape! The album is set for release on 12″ vinyl and digital formats on September 8th. The band is now featuring “Lonely Nights” on their Bandcamp page.
