Pagan Altar - The Room Of Shadows
UK doom legends Pagan Altar have just released their final studio album.
The father/son project got their start back in the mid-1970’s, although no one knew of this relationship at the time. With most of the lyrics written 13 years ago, they were finally hard at work on laying down the music in 2014 when Terry Jones was diagnosed with cancer. That didn’t stop him and his son Alan from finishing most of the record. Terry Jones would succumb to cancer in May of 2015 but Alan ensured that the album would see the light of day. The Room Of Shadows is now available on CD, cassette and vinyl (pre-order) via Canadian label Temple of Mystery Records.

Ronnie Montrose - Color Blind
When Ronnie Montrose passed away in March of 2012, he was working on an album with bassist Ricky Phillips (Styx, Bad English) and drummer Eric Singer (Kiss, Alice Cooper). The idea was to record ten songs with ten different singers and call the album 10×10. Phillips made it his mission to finish the songs, however, and he enlisted a small army of Montrose’s friends to record the vocals and guitar solos for each song. The album will finally be released on September 29th via Rhino Entertainment.
The first track released from the record is called “Color Blind”. It features Sammy Hagar on vocals and Steve Lukather on guitar.
Monolord - Where Death Meets The Sea
Monolord has released a second track from their forthcoming album, Rust. The song is called “Where Death Meets The Sea”. The album is out on September 29th on RidingEasy Records.
This might be Album of the Year!
Danny B. Harvey & Annie Marie Lewis (featuring Lemmy Kilmister) - Trying To Get To You
Danny B. Harvey is the guitarist who played with Lemmy Kilmister for seventeen years in the rockabilly supergroup, Headcat, along with Slim Jim Phantom from the Stray Cats. (Headcat recently recruited former Morbid Angel frontman David Vincent as the replacement for Lemmy.) He has just released a new CD collaboration with Annie Marie Lewis. Lewis is the niece of Jerry Lee Lewis and continues to perform with her uncle.
On the album, titled Reckless Wild & Crazy, Lewis does a duet with Lemmy of the early Elvis Presley song “Trying To Get To You”. Headcat had recorded and released the song previously but Lemmy was reportedly not completely happy with the backing track so Harvey thought adding the vocals of Lewis would help the issue. Unfortunately, Lemmy never got to hear the final version.
