Most of the music I have discovered recently has been via Spotify (especially their Discover Weekly and Release Radar features), Bandcamp and various blogs. Some of that music is being released on a newer label called RidingEasy Records. They are out of Hermosa Beach, California and home to Monolord, Electric Citizen, Mondo Drag, Slow Season, The Well and more. You may recognize a couple of these bands as they have already been featured here on my site.
Holy Serpent, a heavy, psychedelic rock band from Melbourne, Australia, have just released their second album, Temples. This is the followup to the acclaimed 2015 self-titled debut, also on RidingEasy Records. Listen to “Toward The Sands” below.
The first band signed to RidingEasy was Sweden’s Salem’s Pot. Pronounce This! is their second full-length record. Here’s the first song, “Tranny Takes A Trip”.
Even though Neurosis has been around for 30 years, I never gave them much consideration. The influential Bay Area band has just released their eleventh full-length, Fires Within Fires, which was produced by Steve Albini. They are touring the Pacific Northwest with Yob and Sumac in December so I thought I’d give the album a listen. This track, “Broken Ground”, really caught my attention.
Brant Bjork has shared another video from his new album, Tao of the Devil. The song is called “Luvin'” and the video is the sequel to the album’s first single, “Stackt“.
Lord Mountain is from Santa Rosa, California and they have just released their self-titled debut EP. The first track is called “Fenrir”. Listen to it below.
